Job Title: Custodian JOB SUMMARY: Works independently or as a team member, performing a variety of tasks contributing to the cleanliness of plant facility. May perform other duties as assigned. HOURS OF WORK: Custodians are assigned a day shift, Monday through Friday, beginning at 8:00AM and ending at 4:30PM. Mandatory overtime may be assigned which includes Saturdays. Two 10 minute breaks are provided, one morning break and one afternoon break. One 30 minute un-paid meal break is provided. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: The custodian is an entry-level position reporting to the Maintenance Manager. AUTHORITY: The custodian is granted authority to perform the tasks and duties outlined in this job description by the Maintenance Manager. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical requirements described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Blow off lint on tops and sides of dryers and wipe clean. Empty lint drawers on each dryer. 5. Washers: Blow off dust, lint and dirt on washers and broadbent extractor and wipe down all washers. 6. Lint Traps: Empty all lint traps, clean up areas around lint traps and be sure doors are closed when finished. Empty lint traps in plastic bags and throw in dumpster. 7. Steam Tunnel: Clean filters on steam tunnel. Blow out screen vents inside of tunnels front and rear by the blower. Blow off and wipe down the conveyor motor in front of the tunnel and entrance bars. 8. Ensuring the use of lockouts on each machine before performing all custodial tasks. 9. Clean plant floors and remove debris on stairways. 10. Clean bathrooms. 11. Clean lunchroom. 12. Must observe and comply with all Company safety and health policies and procedures.
