Arlington Transportation Partners Parking Planner As part of a dynamic and innovative Transportation Demand Management program for Arlington County Commuter Services, the Parking Planner will be responsible for research, policy development, and evaluating the performance of call center supervisor jobs in Cokeburg PA, Belle Meade TN, Haynesville LA, Garland WY, Zwolle LA on-street and off-street parking within Arlington County, an internationally renowned transit-oriented community. The Parking Planner position will be a contract position with Destination Sales and Marketing Group who manages Arlington Transportation Partners on behalf of Arlington County Commuter Services. The position is full-time and based in Arlington, Virginia Specific Duties include: � Developing new on-street regulations so that the curb space can be better managed to accommodate the various types of users � Creating processes for monitoring public and private garages to evaluate their efficiencies � Creating a system to monitor the occupancy of the on-street parking supply � Overseeing and evaluating pilot projects identified in the County�s Master Transportation Plan�s Parking and Curb Space Management Element � Making written presentations for County staff and County Board members The position requires skillful coordination with other County departments and preparation of detailed reports. The employee must have excellent oral and written presentation and communication skills. The ideal candidate should be someone who is an independent worker, enjoys research and producing high quality reports. The person should have knowledgeskillsexperience in the principles and practices of planning, transportation and parking, as well as excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize work with a sense of urgency. HeShe should be a quick learner, strategic thinker, and be able to provide good advice to other staff, Commission and County Board members. Qualification Requirements: Minimum: Bachelor�s Degree in urban planning, public administration, engineering or a related field plus three years of progressively responsible experience in urban planning, transportation, parking, administration or a closely related planning area. Substitution: A Master�s degree in the above fields may be substituted for one year of the experience requirement. Desirable: a) Experience with a government agency writing reports supporting policy changes; b) Experience or training providing surveying skills related to attitudinal or behavioral research; c) Experience usingapplying urban planning principles in evaluating programs; d) Experience providing professional and technical advice to and dealing with citizen groups or organizations; e) Knowledge or experience with parking operations, parking management plans and the theory and practice of parking policy f) Master�s degree in urban planning, public administration, engineering or a related field. Software requirements: Proficiency required in Microsoft Office. Desirable knowledge of MS Access, statistical packages and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate andor format data for reports. Additional Information: Normal work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Work hours will include attendance at occasional evening and weekend meetings.
